Completing KYC (PAN, Aadhaar, e-sign)
Last reviewed: 25 May 2026
Why KYC
SEBI requires every Research Analyst to verify the identity of every client before publishing personalised research access to them. Markov runs this through Digio, a SEBI-registered KYC vendor — the same vendor used by most mainstream Indian brokers.
What you'll need to hand
- PAN card — number and a clear photograph or scan.
- Aadhaar — your number, plus the phone linked to it (for the Aadhaar e-KYC OTP).
- A 5-minute window with steady connectivity. The flow doesn't resume cleanly from a mid-step disconnect.
The flow, step by step
- PAN check. Type your PAN. Digio confirms it against the income-tax database in under a second.
- Aadhaar e-KYC. Enter your Aadhaar number. Digio sends an OTP to the phone linked to that Aadhaar; type it back to fetch your verified name, address and photo.
- Live photo. A short selfie video so Digio can match you to the Aadhaar photo. Hold the phone at eye level in good light.
- Client agreement e-sign. A short PDF — the standard Research-Analyst client agreement. You'll Aadhaar-OTP-sign it.
How long it takes
Most KYCs finish in under five minutes. If Digio flags a manual review (usually a name mismatch or low-quality selfie) it goes to their queue and clears within a working day. We email you the moment it changes state.
After KYC clears
You're cleared to subscribe to a paid plan and receive the full feed. Free-tier index signals remain available regardless.
