Requesting a data export

Last reviewed: 25 May 2026

What's in an export

A single ZIP archive containing:

  • profile.json — your profile fields and settings.
  • journal.csv — every journal entry you ever logged in the app.
  • subscriptions.csv — your subscription and billing history.
  • signals-history.csv — every signal we published to your tier while you were active.
  • kyc/ — your KYC documents and consent records.
  • invoices/ — your GST invoices.
  • README.txt — schema description so a data scientist (or a future you) can make sense of every field.

How to request one

  1. In the app, go to Settings → Privacy → Request data export.
  2. Tap Request — that's it.
  3. We email you a download link within 24 hours. The link is valid for 48 hours.

Why it isn't instant

A complete export joins data across the app database, KYC vendor and document store. Building it on demand for every user would slow the production system, so we batch it as a background job. In practice most exports finish in under an hour.

Frequency

You can request one export per 30 days. If you genuinely need a fresh one inside that window — for example, because of a hardware loss — email support@markov.in and we'll do it manually.

File format

CSV for tabular data so it opens in Excel/Numbers/Google Sheets. JSON for the profile because nested fields don't flatten cleanly. KYC documents are the original PDFs as Digio issued them.
