Changing your phone number
Last reviewed: 25 May 2026
Why this one is trickier than email
Your phone is the login identifier and is bound to your KYC record. We can't just swap the number on the account — SEBI requires the KYC record itself to reflect the current contact number.
What happens, step by step
- In the app, go to Settings → Account → Change phone.
- Enter the new mobile number.
- We send an OTP to the new number; type it back.
- Digio re-verifies your KYC contact details using the new number. This is a lightweight check, not a full re-KYC — usually under a minute.
- We flip the number on the account. The next OTP login uses the new one.
During the transition
Signals keep flowing. Push notifications continue to your device token, not to your phone number — so no notifications go missing during the swap.
If the new phone is on a different SIM
That's fine. The check is on the number, not the device.
If you've lost access to the old phone
Email support@markov.in from your registered email. We'll guide you through a manual identity-confirmation process before re-attaching the account to a new number. Expect 1–2 working days because we re-pull a fresh KYC consent before doing it.
