Setting up your Markov account
Last reviewed: 25 May 2026
What you need before you start
- An Android phone running Android 9 (Pie) or newer.
- An active Indian mobile number that can receive SMS one-time passwords.
- A working email address.
- A few minutes of uninterrupted signal — KYC happens later, but the initial sign-up needs a stable connection.
Step 1 — install the app
Install Markov from Google Play — markov.in/app takes you straight to the listing. Play verifies the app signature and keeps it auto-updated.
Step 2 — verify your phone
The app sends a six-digit code over SMS. Type it back in. If the SMS doesn't arrive in 60 seconds, tap Resend — most failures are carrier-side and clear on the second attempt.
Step 3 — confirm your email
You'll be asked for your email so we can send GST invoices and the occasional service notice. We don't add you to marketing lists from this field. You can change it later from Settings → Account.
Step 4 — check your coverage
Your plan sets which stocks you see — a fixed market-cap universe per tier, from indices only on Free up to the full NSE universe on Premium. Signals and notifications arrive automatically for every name your plan covers; there is nothing to configure per stock.
What's next
That's it for the basics. The next step is one-time KYC — see Completing KYC. Until KYC is done you can browse the index signal feed; the full per-stock feed unlocks once KYC clears.
